Job Description:

The Director of the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium serves as the HEDS chief executive officer, hires and supervises a staff of three, and oversees a budget of approximately $500,000. Acting as the "face" of the organization for current and prospective members and other higher education organizations, the Director provides leadership for membership recruitment, retention, and outreach efforts. The Director reports to a board of directors and works closely with the board and several HEDS committees.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree or equivalent experience in a social science discipline or related fields relevant to the work of HEDS.  A minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in institutional research or in related fields is highly desired to allow the Director to understand and anticipate the needs of institutional researchers in member institutions. 

The successful candidate will be a visionary thinker, will have excellent management and leadership skills, and the emotional intelligence to work with a diverse range of staff, members, and outside organizations.  The position requires excellent communication skills, and a working knowledge of and experience with research design and methods.  This should include survey design and administration; statistical analysis; and current information technology, including techniques for data sharing and organizing, maintaining, and manipulating complex data systems.
